Privacy policy

What we collect

Article URLs, titles, ≤500-character extracts, and metadata (publication date, domain, language, source country) from publicly published news sources.

What we do NOT collect

• Personally identifying information beyond what's already in published news
• Full article bodies (≤500-char extracts only)
• Any data from social media profiles
• Any data from password-protected sources

Data retention

Article extracts are retained for the lifetime of the project. Backups are encrypted and retained per the cycle: 90 days on R2, 52 weeks on Backblaze B2, indefinitely on Google Drive.

Right to be forgotten

Email privacy@combattingislamophobia.org with the URL of any article that should be redacted. We'll review and act within 30 days per PIPEDA principles.
